Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
