Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a former doctor has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
